Science at the Local Library: Meet a Metahuman

Explore the future of AI learning in higher education in science. Botong Cheng and Emily Collins introduce us to the Metahuman, an AI powered next generation learning experience.

The Metahuman combines a large language model, a game engine and voice synthesiser to create dynamic learning scenarios for learners. This is a great opportunity for those interested in learning more about AI and how it can help in higher education.

Meet Sam Dessen

Sam is Western Sydney University's Senior XR Creative Developer in the Postgraduate Transformations team. With a background in traditional 2D video, TV and film production, Sam fell down the virtual ‘rabbit hole’ of XR, as an early adopter of 360 video and immersive content creation. With a core focus on the student experience, and improving learning outcomes, Sam was a core driver in developing the Metahuman.

Meet Cynara-Jan de Guzman

Cynara-Jan is a digital learning designer in Western Sydney University's Postgraduate Transformations team. With a background in interactive design and teaching art, she takes a creative and explorative mindset into the academic world and PGx team.
