Council manages 52 sporting facilities for 21 sporting codes, including 132 full-size fields and 65 hard courts. Many are available for seasonal allocation, casual hire or special event bookings.

Fees and Charges

Each sports facility has different fees and charges. Download our Recreation and Leisure Facilities 2025-2026 Fees and Charges. This list applies from 1 July 2025 and overrides all previously listed fees.

Our fees are reviewed and updated on 1 July each year.

Seasonal Allocation

Council reviews applications each season to ensure our sports grounds are shared fairly. Allocations will be determined by Council, considering factors such as community benefit, prior use and the scheduling requirements for maintenance, ground regeneration and capital works.

Seasons:

  • Summer season: 3rd Saturday in September to 1st Sunday in March
  • Winter season: 3rd Saturday in March to 1st Sunday in September

Applications are now open for the use of Penrith City Council’s Sports Grounds for the 2026 Winter Season, running from 21 March 2026 to 6 September 2026.

Please note: Blanket booking requests and applications submitted without all required documentation will not be considered. 

Booking requests are not guaranteed. Late applications submitted after the closing date will only be considered if field availability permits.

Casual or one-off

Our sporting grounds are available for hire on a casual basis for organised sporting and select recreation activities.

Prices and permits vary depending on the nature of the booking and the park / reserve requested.

These forms must be returned at least 10 working days before the event date.

Playgrounds and barbecue/ picnic facilities cannot be reserved. These are available on a “first in best dressed” basis. We ask users to leave the facility clean and tidy for the next user.

Special Events

Sporting grounds and reserves may be booked for special events, carnivals and various community activities. 

Prices and permits vary depending on the nature of the booking and the park / reserve requested.

Application forms must be completed and returned with all required supporting documentation at least 6 weeks prior to the event date. Please note, some activities may incur additional processing times including but not limited to:

  • Signage such as display boards or banners
  • Selling or consumption of alcohol
  • Use of portable structures, tents, sunshades, marquees and stalls
  • Selling of food
  • Traffic Management and road closures
  • Amusement rides, jumping castles, animal farms or petting zoos
  • Fireworks
