Want to be a good neighbour?
Having good neighbours is the best! It means having an extra someone to keep an eye on things, to collect the mail when you’re away or lend some milk when you’ve run out. It’s great to know and trust the people around you.
The first step to being a good neighbour is knowing your neighbours. It can be hard to get to know new people, and sometimes you don’t even know where to start. That’s why Penrith City Council has launched the Good Neighbour program.
If you want to introduce yourself to your neighbours, fill out one of our handy postcards. All you have to do is print them out, fill them in and pop one in a neighbour’s letterbox.
Good Neighbour Support
Know someone who's doing it tough due to COVID impacts? Nominate them for a visit from our Good Neighbour Team.
We understand that everyone’s circumstances are different. Being in lockdown during the COVID pandemic has made things hard, especially if you are unable to see family and friends or rely on those people to bring food or basic needs.
Penrith City Council is expanding its Good Neighbour program to help those doing it tough. People can nominate a resident who may be doing it tough (including yourself) to receive a visit from our Good Neighbour Support van. Staff will be checking-in on residents to provide care-packs that can include food, masks, sanitiser, key information cleaning supplies and other support items as needed.
To register for support, please complete the details in the online form below. All details provided will be kept confidential and will only used to assist and connect those who require support with our staff.
This service is being offered to residents who reside in the Penrith City Council Local Government Area only. If you are unsure, please call 4732 7777.
Good Neighbour Support is available to those who are isolated, unable to leave their home or are doing it tough and need support during the COVID-19 pandemic.
If you are nominating a person other than yourself, consider letting them know you are reaching out for support on their behalf by having a conversation with them. Your details will remain confidential unless you tell us otherwise.
Council staff will contact the person being registered to confirm eligibility for food and other support opportunities.
