Penrith City Council will be conducting a program to control weeds located in selected parks, reserves and sporting fields within the Penrith City Council area. The program will specifically target Bindii, clover and black beetle weeds on Council-managed assets.
The program will be conducted in accordance with the NSW Pesticides Act 1999 and Penrith City Council's Pesticide Use Notification Plan, whereby Council intends to use an Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority approved herbicide 'Javelin', 'Jolt',
'Spear Head', 'Casper', 'Stadium', 'Penmag', 'Barricade' and 'Acelepryn'.
Spraying application of the herbicide will be undertaken via a minimum one-off service, with the service commencing the end of August through to December 2017. Weed spraying will be performed in target areas across Penrith City Councils Local Government Authority.
Signage will be displayed at the specific sporting fields and/or dog-off leash area on the day of spraying. Following spraying the areas will be safe to access and use 4 hours after herbicide application.
