Celebrate World Wildlife Day with Council’s Bushcare team and OzFish at Fowler Reserve!

We stockpiled logs and root balls at Fowler Reserve as part of our fish habitat restoration project, and now they have been implanted into the banks of the Nepean River.

Join us for a great morning with:

  • Guest speaker Rebecca Mabbot from Soil Conservation Service will explain what the recent habitat restoration works on the banks of the Nepean River involved and why we did them.
  • OzFish Hawkesbury-Nepean President Juan del Carmen will conduct a fly-fishing demonstration and give tips on targeting Australian native fish.
  • A number of giveaways from OzFish’s corporate partner, Boating, Camping, Fishing (BCF).
  • A planting activity to restore and improve habitat along the river bank.

We advise that you wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat, water and sunscreen.

The event is free, but registrations are essential. Register at Eventbrite.

COVID safe plan
As part of the event’s COVID safe plan, participants will be required to check in via the event’s CR code, wear a mask and social distance wherever possible on the day. Hand sanitiser will be provided. Please stay at home if you are feeling unwell.

About the project
