When: Every last Saturday of the month.

Time: 8am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Nepean Street, Cranebrook.

This site is in Cranebook and is an important remnant of the critically endangered ecological community (CEEC) Cumberland Plain Woodland. Situated on a gentle hillside, you can enjoy views of the Blue Mountains from the lookout.

This reserve is ecologically significant and supports a variety of native species, including the threatened rice flower (Pimelea spicata). The site is also valued for its natural remnant bushland and is popular for birdwatching and walking. Our Bushcare Group is actively involved in the restoration and ongoing maintenance of this woodland environment.

Tasks include removal of weed species such as privet species, African olives, bridal creeper, African lovegrass, moth vine, Brazilian nightshade and corky passionfruit.

We have many habitat boxes installed across the site and we know through monitoring that these are being used by ringtail possums and sugar gliders!

It is also home to the yellow-faced honeyeater, spotted pardalote and the endangered Cumberland plain land snail.

If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to our Bushcare team via the volunteering form!
