Science at the Local Library: The ABCs of Water Management

Did you know that over 35 cities around the world already use highly treated recycled water from homes — including kitchens, showers, and toilets — to supplement their drinking water supplies? Here in the Sydney basin, emerging recycled water technologies could see purified recycled water provide up to 25% of our City’s water needs by 2056. 
 
Join us for this insightful and engaging talk about the future of water management in Sydney. As our population grows and water challenges increase, innovative, sustainable solutions are more vital than ever. This talk will explore the potential of purified recycled water to help secure Sydney’s water future, highlight global success stories, and unpack what this means for our local community. 
 
Our speaker, Tracey Willingham, brings a wealth of experience from her work managing water literacy and education programs at Sydney Water. With a career spanning WaterNSW, the Sydney Catchment Authority, and over 16 years in both formal and informal education, Tracey is a passionate advocate for water sustainability and community engagement.
