Get tips and tricks for your entry in The Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize with a creative writing professional, presented by WestWords and WestLit Libraries.

In this workshop for 16+ year old participants will hone their creative writing skills and enter the competition with confidence. Do you love writing? If you do, then this competition and workshop is for you! (This is a great workshop for adults interested in the competition.)

About the competition

The Living Stories Western Sydney Writing Prize is a creative writing competition for residents of Western Sydney and Wingecarribee Shire, which is home to over 10% of Australia’s population originating from 180 countries, speaking almost 100 different languages. Entries, either a short story/essay (up to 500 words) or a poem (up to 25 lines) are open to residents from the 14 LGAs across four age groups 10-12 years; 13-15 years; 16-18 years; and adults (18+).
