Ballet goers were mesmerised by the beauty and drama of Giselle when The Australia Ballet presented their third performance of Ballet Under the Stars at the International Regatta Centre on Saturday night.

Ballet goers were mesmerised by the beauty and drama of Giselle when The Australia Ballet presented their third performance of Ballet Under the Stars at the International Regatta Centre on Saturday night. This was the final year of their three year commitment to Penrith.

The ethereal performance had audiences spellbound, allowing young and old to lose themselves in the world class production and picturesque setting.

Mayor of Penrith, Cr Ross Fowler said a major partnership with Ballet Under the Stars has allowed Council to deliver on its ongoing commitment to provide outstanding cultural experiences for residents.

"Council is proud to have partnered with The Australian Ballet to provide locals with the unique opportunity to experience world class ballet right here in Penrith", Cr Fowler said.

This weekend Penrith also hosted the Western Sydney Wanderers FFA Cup Semi Final at Panthers Stadium. Along with Ballet Under the Stars, the two events injected valuable tourism dollars into the local visitor economy providing a boost to local business and cementing Penrith's reputation as a standout tourist destination.

"Penrith has established a reputation as the home of world-class events and entertainment in Western Sydney. Major events such as Ballet Under The Stars and the FFA Cup Semi Final not only give residents the chance to experience outstanding cultural and sporting events close to home, they also attract day and weekend visitors, providing a substantial boost to the local economy."

Ballet Under the Stars and the FFA Cup Semi Final, mark the start of a series of major events that will call Penrith home in coming months including; Real Festival (2-3 November), NSW Golf Open Championship (8-11 November), Westfield Matildas vs Chile (10 November) and much more.
