Local support continues

Monday, 8 January 2018

Each year Council hosts a full program of community events, including Australia Day.

And each year we're able to hold more, and higher quality events because of the support of local business.

The Western Weekender is one of those businesses.

Penrith Mayor Cr John Thain said the Western Weekender is a local landmark.

"The Weekender are always one of the first businesses to jump at the chance to support events and initiatives that benefit the local community," Cr Thain said.

And 2018 is no different, with the Western Weekender coming on board as the major sponsor of Penrith's Australia Day festivities.

"Our Australia Day event would not be possible without the generous and ongoing support of the team at the Western Weekender," Cr Thain continued.

"The Weekender is a proud local business and they absolutely love working for our local community, and helping bring fun, entertainment and joy to the people of Penrith," he said.

Penrith is the place to be on Australia Day, with festivities starting at Jamison park from 3pm and running until the sun sets at 8pm.

There'll be something for everyone to enjoy on the day, with cultural displays, food, activities and entertainment.
