India's Acting Consul General Dr Vinod Bahade attended an event at Penrith RSL on February 15 where business leaders heard how Penrith is looking to international markets to boost jobs and investment.

Hosted by the NSW Business Chamber's International Trade Department to promote trade between India and Australia, the aim of the event was to develop collaboration and partnerships between global industries and governments.

Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown told the event "We're looking for partners to grow the local economy, attract investment and create jobs. We want to turn big ideas into reality."

Penrith was chosen as the location for the event because of the region's strong growth and focussed investment strategy. Around 60 business leaders from the region attended.
