Penrith City Library is reopening its Penrith branch to the public from Monday 1 June on a limited services basis with access to the physical collection only.

Penrith City Library is reopening its Penrith branch to the public from Monday 1 June on a limited services basis with access to the physical collection only.In the first phase of opening, Penrith Library will be open from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. The St Marys and St Clair branches will remain closed during this initial stage.

The Library is continuing to adhere to social distancing guidelines and will accommodate a total of 100 people at a time.

Penrith Mayor Ross Fowler OAM said that he was pleased to reopen the Penrith branch.

“The health and safety of our customers and staff is our top priority,” Cr Fowler said.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience during this time as we gradually transition back to our full library services.“The Library is looking forward to seeing their old and new customers visit them at the Penrith branch,” Cr Fowler said.

Penrith City Library is asking all customers for their support in complying with the NSW Health guidelines to protect everyone who visits the library service by:

• using the hand sanitiser available at the library entrance

• entering and exiting the library as marked

• maintaining 1.5 metre distance between yourself and others while queuing at the desk or browsing in the library aisles

• minimising risk by visiting the library by yourself

• planning ahead, search the online library catalogue to check the availability of your items

• staying at home if you are not feeling well

• recording your details at the entry point

• using cashless payments if possible

If you would prefer to continue social distancing at home, you can access online activities such as Baby Time and Story Time at the Library’s Facebook page and browse the Library’s online catalogue for eBooks, Audiobooks, magazines and newspapers at library.penrith.city
