Penrith Mayor Ross Fowler OAM said Council is proud to be taking part in this worldwide event and providing a platform for artists to perform and share their music.

“We aren’t able to congregate to enjoy live music yet, but Council is committed to doing what we can to support artists, musicians and performers during this time,” Cr Fowler said.

“Our weekly livestreamed music event Thursday Night Live has been incredibly popular and the upcoming Make Music Day event is another opportunity for the community to come together online, and share in some great music.

“I encourage everyone to head to Council’s Facebook page on Sunday 21 June to show your support for our local performers and celebrate together on Make Music Day,” Cr Fowler said.

Council aims to support local musicians even further by creating a Spotify playlist of local music which can be downloaded and played by anyone, anytime and anywhere.

Local musicians, singers or bands are invited to nominate a track to be included on the playlist.
