Keep the kids entertained these school holidays with Council’s free activities

Thursday, 9 September 2021

Penrith City Council will present a range of free children’s activities these September school holidays to help inspire and engage young minds during lockdown.

Some of the great activities on offer include a circus comedy show, an insect hotel workshop exploring how to make your garden a haven for insects and a cooking session to learn how to create tasty dishes including easy chocolate fudge.

Penrith Mayor Karen McKeown OAM said Council’s free school holiday activities are an important offering to the community during these unprecedented times of stay at home orders.

“We know that families and carers have been doing it tough recently with balancing home schooling with other commitments such as work. Council’s school holiday activities provide a perfect opportunity to have some fun with the kids and get creative in a COVID safe manner,” Cr McKeown said.

“Best of all, Council are providing our activities free of charge which will no doubt provide some welcome relief to families who have been struggling financially during recent times.”

“I encourage all families and carers to take some time out with their kids and enjoy our fun activities on offer whether it be trying your hand at a new science experiment, taking a break with some yoga or having a go at some creative writing – there's something for all ages!”
