Want to be reminded to vote at the Council election on Saturday 4 December? Register with Service NSW to receive a reminder text or email at https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/register-nsw-electoral-reminders

A reminder is a great idea because voting is compulsory, and fines apply. Also, absentee voting is not an option in local elections, so if you won’t be in Penrith on the day, you must apply for a postal by Monday 29 November or make a pre-poll vote by Friday 3 November. You can also apply for a postal vote if you are concerned about the COVID-19 situation.

If you are voting on the day, it’s important to remember that Penrith is made up of three wards – North, South and East – and you must vote in your ward. On election day, polling places will be open at local schools and community halls from 8am to 6pm.

To find out your ward and how and where to vote go to penrith.city/Council-Election

In line with the Local Government Act, Council does not promote candidates through any of its channels. A list of candidates is available from Council’s election services provider, the Australian Election Company https://www.austelect.com/ and information on those standing will be available from local news sources – both in print and online.
