Funding secured for family support services in Penrith

Friday, 26 June 2015

Federal government funding of more than $215,000 has been awarded to Penrith City Council for children and parent support services.

The funding has been awarded to Penrith City Council's Children's Services under the Department of Social Services (DSS) Children and Parenting Program.

Penrith Mayor Ross Fowler OAM said the $215,348 in funding meant current programs could continue to run for another two years.

"This is a great outcome and will ensure that some of the services we have previously successfully delivered will continue, in particular the Family Support Program," Cr Fowler said. "Our early childhood education and care services are well placed to support children's development and wellbeing, and support the capacity of those in a parenting role."
