Penrith City Council is inviting professional Western Sydney artists to register with VendorPanel for the opportunity to work on paid Council public art, creative arts and CACD projects.

water tank covered in kookaburra paintingVendorPanel is a secure online portal Council uses to identify and engage with suppliers for projects. Council can include registered businesses in relevant offers, such as Requests for Quotes, Expressions of Interest, and Tenders.

Creative hoardings for new city developments is one of the current projects open to professional artists on VendorPanel. Council is seeking to license a design to appear on the temporary structures as the city undergoes continual changes through new construction projects. Placing creative content on these ‘blank canvases’ add visual impact to the streetscape.

A recent arts project delivered in Penrith is the creative lighting along Woodriff lane, a key pedestrian linkage in the Penrith City Centre. This project connects public spaces and adds vibrancy through four oversized colourful lampshades that establish an atmosphere of warmth and safety. The project arose in response to Penrith’s award-winning Night Time Economy strategy which identified the need to improve pedestrian light levels in the City Centre,

The creative industries are a key focus for Penrith New West as cultural development and creativity are critical to Penrith’s growth as a major city. Penrith New West is seeking to generate 5,000 new jobs in the arts and culture sector by 2031.
