A significant milestone has been reached in the development of Bradfield City Centre.
Penrith City Council representatives, including Mayor Todd Carney, joined NSW Premier Chris Minns when he officially opened the Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF) on March 5, 2025. This marked the commencement of an industry-led hub designed to connect and attract local and global partners, and cultivate a skilled workforce.
This opening comes just over a year after plans were unveiled for Bradfield City, a project aiming to create a city adjacent to the upcoming Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport. The AMRF, the first building to open its doors, is an innovation and industry accelerator designed to drive investment into Western Sydney. This unique urban pavilion, comprising three interconnected buildings under one roof, features an advanced manufacturing hall, office spaces and areas for exhibitions, talks, and events.
Strategically located just a 400-metre walk from the Bradfield Metro Station (opening in 2026) and a mere five-minute train ride from the Western Sydney International Airport station via the future Sydney Metro Western Sydney Aerotropolis line, the AMRF is positioned to be a central hub for industry and innovation. Rapid bus services connecting Penrith will further enhance accessibility.
With the Western Sydney International Airport scheduled to open by the end of 2026, the opening of the AMRF represents a crucial step in the development of Bradfield City Centre and the broader Western Sydney Aerotropolis. This facility will provide shared resources for training, technology, expertise, and networking, fostering collaboration and growth in the region.
