Located between Westfield Penrith, the Joan Sutherland Centre, and the Penrith Library and Council Chambers, thousands of people walk through the Mondo every week.

The Mondo is more than a thoroughfare, it’s a place where people actually want to stop and enjoy their surroundings. It’s part of Council’s vision to make our City Centres more vibrant, lively and attractive for investment while offering spaces for people to stop and enjoy being outside.

Umbrellas and trees provide shade to help beat the heat on hotter days, and low garden beds also help ‘cool’ the area. And lighting, paving and artificial turf make the area look good all year round. Many of these features incorporate sustainable materials and methods such as channelling water for tree irrigation, in line with Council’s sustainability goals.
