Penrith Made: Soul Sports

In this edition of Penrith Made, we discover more about Soul Sports.

Soul Sports are a Penrith based business who specialise in the manufacture, development, and marketing of uniforms for a variety of sporting organisations, from state-based sporting clubs to national sporting organisations such as the Australian Boomers, Sydney Flames, Sydney Kings, Melbourne Tigers and West Sydney Razorbacks.

Founded by friends Mark Hennessy, Brad Connelly, and Steve Sardi in 1992, Soul Sports are passionate about Australian manufacturing and producing great quality products, and their on-site team is made up of 9 staff members with many living in Penrith. The team also strongly believe in supporting other local businesses, and work closely with local promotions companies, screen printing, and embroidery services.

Soul Sports are well known and established within the basketball marketplace as one of the premier companies when it comes to uniforms, equipment, and accessories, but the team have also expanded their operations into other sports such as netball, soccer, rugby, and touch footy just to name a few. In addition to this, they've also taken the opportunity to manufacture face masks since the beginning of the pandemic – a shift which allowed them to continue operations when many team sports were put on hold during lengthy lockdowns in 2020 and 2021.

Soul Sports have ongoing partnerships with several sporting associations including our own Penrith Panthers, Hawkesbury Jets, Blacktown Storm, Springwood Scorchers, Bankstown Bruins, Norths Bears, Sutherland Sharks, Bathurst Goldminers and Sherbrook Suns.

Soul Sports has gone from strength to strength over the past 24 months, having landed a three-year deal with Basketball NSW as their Official Supplier of Officiating and Staff apparel, as well as becoming an Official Partner of the Dream Hoops Program.
