Bass Sydney Fishing Club Bushcare

Bass Sydney Fishing Club Bushcare

Decorative Decorative

When: Every last Sunday of the month.

Time: 8:30am to 12pm.

Meeting location: Emu Green Reserve — accessible via entry on the corner of Russell Street and Palomino Road OR via Alma Crescent, Emu Plains.

This picturesque site is on the banks of the Nepean River and is a lovely spot! This Group has been working away since 2011 and is home to the endangered ecological community (EEC) River-Flat Eucalypt Forest. Revegetation has occurred across the site to assist with stabilisation as this is a floodplain, and water inundates the area during large rain events and floods.

Tasks include maintaining plantings, target weeding of problematic vines and getting pesky annual weeds before they seed.

This is a huge reserve, so extra helping hands are very much wanted! It is a haven for birds such as the ground loving brown quail, the sacred kingfisher and the variegated fairywren. It is also a great spot to fish after you finish Bushcare!

If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to our Bushcare team via the volunteering form!
