Australia Day

Grab the kids and enjoy the free family fun day on 26 January 2020.

A cool change is coming to Penrith’s Australia Day celebration in 2020.

The new venue, Cables Wake Park, is one of Penrith’s favourite water sport and aquatic playground. It’s the perfect place to escape the hot summer heat, make a splash and hours of fun with your family and friends.

All Aqua Park and wakeboarding sessions now fully booked, but don't worry because you can still keep cool on Australia Day with free entry to Ripples Leisure Centres in Penrith and St Marys from 8am - 6pm. Bring your family and friends to swim in the pools and enjoy hours of fun on the splash pads.

  • Free 1-hour Aqua Park sessions fully booked.
  • Free 1-hour wakeboarding sessions fully booked

Little kids can be part of the action at Cables Wake Park with a splash pad, water slides, jumping castle and a range of fun water activities for kids under 6yrs to enjoy throughout the day.

Please bring a copy of your tickets on your phone or print a copy out to bring with you on the day. Make sure you arrive 30 minutes before your session and don't forget to bring your printed ticket with you. Everyone participating in the free wakeboarding and Aqua Park sessions will need to complete a waiver form. You can view and submit the waiver form online or print out and sign the waiver form after making your booking, and bring it with you on the day. Please note, you can also fill out the waiver form on the day.

A DJ spinning tunes will provide a high-energy, fun soundtrack to the best day of the year and the entertainment will keep coming with two on-water stunt shows by Australia’s best wakeboarders.

You’ll need food to fuel you throughout the day. Bring a picnic and enjoy watching all the on-water action, or purchase something delicious to eat from one of the mobile food vendors on site including Outback Steakhouse.

Located in the heart of Penrith, the event is easy to get to with public transport options close by, parking on site and a free shuttle service from Jamison Park at Batt Street (near Netball Courts). The shuttle service will operate on a continuous loop throughout the day, starting at 9am and finishing at 6pm.

Conditions of entry to Cables Wake Park include:

No smoking. No alcohol. No glass. No pets. No take-away food/drink. No skateboards, scooters, rollerblades or bikes. No aggressive behaviour. Children must be supervised at all times.
