Penrith City Council is thrilled to announce that applications for the Community Funding Program will be open from 6 July to 31 July 2026, with 5 grant streams available to apply for.
The program offers targeted funding to support and amplify a diverse range of activities and events that build thriving, vibrant, safe and creative communities within the Penrith local government area.
Penrith Mayor Todd Carney said the Community Funding Program plays a vital role in supporting community-led initiatives.
“Penrith’s wide range of grants reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting social and cultural outcomes for our community,” Cr Carney said.
“I encourage anyone with a creative idea or project to visit our website and apply. Together, we can deliver meaningful outcomes for our residents and our City.”
The 2026 Community Funding Program offers:
- Thriving Communities Grant: Supporting initiatives that promote wellbeing, safety and connection among residents. This grant enables community-led activities that make Penrith a more inclusive and resilient place to live.
- Tier One – Sole Applicant: Up to $2,500
- Tier Two – Partnership Application: Up to $5,000 - Safe Communities – Domestic and Family Violence Grant: Reinforcing Council’s commitment to preventing domestic and family violence, this grant funds primary prevention projects that address root causes and drive long-term cultural change.
- Tier One – Sole Applicant: Up to $2,500.
- Tier Two – Partnership Application: Up to $5,000. - Local Events Grant: Supporting events that bring people together, this grant fosters social cohesion and a strong sense of community wellbeing.
- Tier One – Micro Grants: Up to $1,000
- Tier Two – Incubator Grants: Up to $5,000 - Magnetic Places Grant: Encouraging creative expression in local neighbourhoods, this grant magnifies resident stories and activates key neighbourhoods.
- Up to $15,000 - Local Creativity Grant: This grant supports individuals and groups to deliver creative and cultural activities that contribute to Penrith’s dynamic and diverse cultural scene.
- Up to $5,000
Applications are open from Monday 6 July to Friday 31 July 2026.
