Have your say on the draft Penrith Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026-2030

Tuesday, 28 April 2026

People with disability, family, friends, carers and service providers are invited to review Penrith City Council’s draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) for 2026-2030.

The DIAP is a 4-year plan driven by community feedback that guides Council to make Penrith more inclusive and accessible.

Penrith Mayor Todd Carney encouraged residents to leave their feedback on the draft plan.

“Each day, people with disability can experience barriers that prevent them from leading meaningful, independent lives,” Cr Carney said.

“We’ve incorporated the feedback we received late last year into drafting the plan and now we want to ask the community to review the draft.

“Council uses the DIAP to advocate to other levels of government, businesses and organisations. We've made great strides in creating a more accessible and inclusive City thanks to the input from our community,” he said.

During the next 4 years, Council will continue to work with partners to make improvements addressing physical, attitudinal, communication and social barriers for people with visible and invisible disability, their families, friends and carers.

The draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan is open for feedback until Wednesday 20 May.

First Nations community members are invited to a targeted focus group session on Tuesday 12 May from 10:30am to 12pm to share their insights and experiences. RSVP by Friday 8 May via yoursaypenrith.com.au/disabilityinclusionactionplan
