Penrith Council is pleased to announce the 2018 Mental Health and Wellbeing in CALD Communities symposium will be held on Wednesday 24 October, hosted by Council and the NSW Local Government Multicultural Network, in partnership with the State Library of NSW and Local Government NSW.

Multicultural and mental health workers in Local Government, government and non-government health services, funding bodies, community organisations, and community leaders and advocates throughout NSW are all invited to attend.

A key focus of this year’s event is breaking down the barriers CALD communities face accessing equitable and culturally aware mental health and wellbeing support.

The symposium brings multicultural workers together to:

    • Share their insights
    • Discuss best practice
    • Increase their understanding of cultural nuances around mental health
    • Enhance partnerships and support networks, especially between metropolitan and regional areas, and across different agencies and organisations

We are excited to have representatives from a broad range of sectors and areas, in particular regional NSW, and look forward to meeting you in person at the symposium.
