  • We're making the High Street ‘pop up park’ permanent. Council has appointed Community Assets & Infrastructure Pty Ltd (CA&I) to build the permanent Triangle Park with work commencing on Monday 10 July 2017 through to the first quarter 2018 (weather permitting).

The 'pop up park' at the western end of High Street (near Henry Street) was successfully trialled from 2013, creating a space for community events and a spot to sit and relax with friends.

The park will feature new paving, tree planting, seating, a water feature, deck and shade structures and will be more vibrant and attractive to benefit residents, workers, visitors and local businesses.

It will be a green space that will help cool the city, inject new life into the City Centre and be a social place supporting the day and night time economy.

From Monday 10 July, 2017 work will begin on:

    • Removal of existing furniture items, concrete blocks and trees Excavation to the original road levels for plant access
    • Drainage work including demolition, excavation, installation of new culverts and upgrades of existing pits.
    • Installation of water feature and new pavement

Triangle Park will be a fenced construction site with no entry to the public from 10 July. Safe pedestrian access to and from adjacent business's will be maintained throughout the project.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during construction.
