Why use this indicator?

A level of non-compliance is indicative of the ability of management to ensure operations conform to performance targets. Ensuring compliance can reduce financial risks including direct fines and costs of clean-up and impacts on reputation.

This indicator reports on Council's compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

What is the current situation?

Council continues to maintain zero number of sanctions for non-compliance with laws and regulations. This is a steady trend.

What is the desired trend?

Nil fines received for non-compliance with laws and regulations.

What does this mean for the Sustainability of Penrith Council?

The community has an expectation that Council will manage its operations in a manner that conforms to performance targets and in particular complies with the range of laws and regulations within which Council operates.
