Why use this indicator?

Information on an organisation's workforce indicates how its teams are structured and resourced to implement its vision and strategies. It also provides insight into an organisation's business model, and can reflect job stability, the level of benefits the organisation offers, and the economic development and sustainability of the workforce.

This indicator will provide information on Council's workforce.

What is the current situation?

Councils permanent workforce remains stable with the break up of employment types outlined below:

  • 76.1% of Council's workforce employed on a permanent basis;
  • 12.7% of Council's workforce are temporary; and
  • 11% of Council's workforce are casual.

Council is working to ensure that the organisation has suitably qualified and skilled staff to undertake the range of operations and respond to community needs and expectations.
