Why use this indicator?

Integrating human rights criteria in screening or including human rights in performance requirements can be part of a strategy to reduce the risks of investment.

This indicator reflects the extent to which human rights are integrated into Council’s economic decisions.

What is the current situation?

No data was available for the 07/08 reporting period.

What is the desired trend?

All Council investment agreements include human rights clauses or have undergone human rights screening.

What does this mean for the Sustainability of Penrith Council?

Sustainability is the protection and management of economic, social and environmental facets. Improved economic performance should not be at the expense of an individuals human rights. Council has a role in protecting the rights of its employees as well as those it indirectly employs.
