Why use this indicator?

Financial assistance received from a government, in comparison with taxes paid, can develop a balanced picture of the transactions between government and the organisation.

What is the current situation?

Financial assistance received from government in 2007-2008 is $21.3M.

Financial assistance received has increased 2.9% (2007 $20.7M to 2008 $21.3M).

Council continues to pursue funding opportunities from State and Federal Government.

What is the desired trend?

An increase in the value of grants achieved.

What does this mean for the Sustainability of Penrith Council?

The provision of grants assists Council in the continual improvement of the economic, social and environmental status of the City.
