Thelma Anderson

Thelma Anderson has been a member of the Penrith Community for 75 years.

Thelma is the Secretary and Convenor of special events for the Penrith Older Women’s Network, has organised the development of the Penrith Seniors Choir and was treasurer of the Penrith Senior Citizens Management Committee.

Thelma established the community Drop-In Centre at the Penrith Community Health Centre to service members of the Penrith Community and further sits on the steering committee for Seniors Week organised by Penrith City Council.

Thelma has spent 10 years as secretary on the Management Committee, North Penrith Community Centre.

Thelma was a Meals on Wheels volunteer for seven years and has previously volunteered at Cobham Children’s Court.

Thelma established a sewing group for young mothers at Emu Plains Correctional Centre.

Thelma has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal 2003 and Woman of Initiative Zonta Club Award.
