Parade and Civic Reception to be Held for Local Heroes
The 2003 NRL Premiers, the Penrith Panthers, will parade down High Street before meeting residents and fans outside the Penrith City Civic Centre on 28 November.
Mayor of Penrith City Greg Davies said residents would be able to cheer the Panthers, St Marys-Penrith Cougars, and St Dominic's College players as they made their way down the main street towards the Civic Centre.

Panthers Players meet the fans and the press at Penrith Stadium, October 6th 2003. Included, from left,: John Lang (coach), Luke Rooney, Tony Puletua, Ryan Girdler, Luke Swain, Craig Gower (with microphone), Joe Gavalao, Martin Lang (holding baby), Scott Sattler, Joel Clinton and Ben Ross.
"Players will be in a specially decorated open top bus so the crowd lined along High Street can see them," Councillor Davies said.
"Council congratulates the three teams for all reaching their goal to play in their grand finals.
"The Panthers against all expectations won the minor premiership proving they were the team to beat in 2003. To go on to win the grand final against one of the form sides for a number of years gave the city and residents immense pride and showed that Penrith City people achieve what they set out to achieve.
"The players from all three sides have been great ambassadors for our city and the media attention throughout the season has shown to the rest of Sydney a Penrith City lifestyle of which to be envious.
"Council is proud to help organise the parade to say thank you to the boys and say good luck in your quest to become 2004 Premiers."
The players from the three teams will travel along High Street from 5pm and meet the public at 5:30 pm out the front of the Civic Centre before later attending a formal Civic Reception hosted by the Mayor.
